Lisa A. Snider, MD, F.A.A.P.

Dr. Snider is an attending developmental-behavioral pediatrician at the For OC Kids Neurodevelopmental Center and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at University of California, Irvine. Her current clinical focus is early diagnostic assessment of children with suspected autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Since coming to the University of California, Irvine in September 2007, Dr. Snider has been investigating the utility of a clinical ADOS assessment in children with suspected autism spectrum disorders, the correlation of language development and ABR findings in children with autism spectrum disorders, and working on a pilot case ascertainment screen for children with an autism spectrum disorder with the National Children's Study.

Dr. Snider completed her undergraduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she received a dual degree in Cognitive Science and Biology and conducted research on the structural and functional organization of the basal ganglia. She graduated from the University of Southern California, School of Medicine and did her pediatric training at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. She completed a clinical research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in the branch of Pediatrics and Developmental Neuropsychiatry. While at the NIMH, Dr. Snider conducted multiple clinical studies and published extensively on childhood anxiety disorders and autoimmune neuropsychiatric conditions. During her fellowship in developmental-behavioral pediatrics, Dr. Snider continued to conduct research in conjunction with the NIMH on characterization and immunologic investigations of autistic spectrum disorders.
