Jacqueline Nguyen

Jacqueline Nguyen joined the CHOC-UCI Neurodevelopmental Center in June of 2006 as a Support & Education Coordinator for the For OC Kids Family Support & Education Program. Jacqueline began advocating for children with special needs shortly after her son was diagnosed with Autism in 1998. Since that time it has been her passion to provide support to Asian families of children with special needs. Her primary focus has been providing collaborative support to families with language barriers and assisting them in navigating the special education maze with sensitivity to cultural concerns.

Her professional background has included working at United Cerebral Palsy Association of Orange County as a Coordinator for the Parent Connection Program. Currently she serves as an appointed Educational Responsible Adult through the juvenile justice system’s Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County. In addition, she is involved with other organizations such as the Special Olympics, the Community Advisory Committee through Garden Grove Unified School District, and the Vietnamese Parents with Disabled Children Association.

After over two decades since earning her bachelor’s degree, Jacqueline has returned to graduate school in the Spring of 2008. She is currently pursuing a double master degree in Management of Non-Profit Agencies and Emergency Management.

At the Neurodevelopmental Center's For OC Kids Family Support & Education Program Jacqueline is available to provide assistance to our patient’s families (in both English & Vietnamese) regarding resources, parent education, parent support, the service delivery system, and planning for school success.

Coâ Jacqueline Nguyễn thaønh vieân taïi Trung Tâm Phát Triển Thần Kinh For OC Kids từ tháng sáu năm 2006 với tư cách Ñieàu Hôïp Vieân Hoå Trôï vaø Taïo Huaán Gia Ñiønh. Coâ Jacqueline bắt đầu höôùng daãn cho caùc gia ñiønh trẽ em với nhu cầu đặc biệt sau khi con trai của Coâ ñược chẩn y với bệnh Tự Kỷ vào năm 1998. Kể từ đó, coâ nhiệt tình giúp đở các gia đình Á Châu có trẽ em với nhu cầu đặc biệt. Chủ yếu của coâ là gia đình hổ trợ lẩn nhau để giải quyết các trở ngại về ngôn ngữ cũng như các khó khăn về thủ tục của chương trình giáo dục đặc biệt.

Trong quá trình, Coâ Jacqueline đã từng hoạt động cho Hiệp Hội Bệnh Co Dộng của Quận Cam với tư cách Phối Trí Viên Giao Tiếp Phụ Huynh. Hiện tại, coâ còn là một đại biểu vôùi trách nhiệm giáo dục do cơ quan tư pháp Quận Orange bổ nhiệm. Thêm vào đó, coâ tham dự vào các tổ chức khác như Special Olympics, ủy ban tư vấn của cơ quan giáo dục hoïc khu Garden Grove, Hội Phụ Huynh Vieät Nam Coù Con Em Khuyeát Tật vaø caùc uyû ban toä chöùc theå thao cho treû em vaø viï thaønh nieân vôùi nhu caàu ñaËc bieät.

Hôn hai thaäp nieân sau khi toát nghieäp baèng cöû nhaân, coâ Jacqueline ñaõ trôõ laiï tröôøng hoïc luùc muøa Xuaân 2008. Hieän coâ đang theo ñuoåi chöông triønh cao hoïc ngaønh Quaûn Triï caùc toå chöùc baát vuï lôïi vaø Quaûn Triï Caáp Cöùu.

Tại Trung Tâm Phát Triển Thần Kinh For OC Kids, Coâ Jacqueline trợ giúp các gia đình bệnh nhân (tiếng Anh hoạêc tiếng Vieät) trong các lảnh vực tìm kiếm tài liệu, tao ïhuaán vaø hoå trôï phu huynh, cung cấp dịch vụ tham khaûo, và trôï giuùp trong caùc phieân hôïp vôùi nhöõng chương trình giaùo duïc ñaËc bieät cho beänh nhaân cuûa Trung Taâm. Coâ laø ngöôøi ñaïi dieän Trung Taâm mang ñeán caùc buoåi hoäi thaûo baèng tieáng Vieät cho coäng ñoàng ngöôøi Vieät taïi Quaän Cam.
